Decksure is a Google Slides add-on that checks a presentation against a brand kit of fonts, colors and a minimum text size. In short: your text, images and file names never leave Google. The only thing Decksure sends outside Google is usage counts that aren't linked to your name or email address.
"Decksure", "we" and "us" mean the team behind Decksure. You can reach us at admin@getdecksure.com.
What Decksure can access
When you install Decksure, Google asks you to allow these permissions. Here is what each one is used for:
- See and edit the presentation you have open (only that presentation, only while you use Decksure). Decksure reads the fonts, colors and text sizes on each slide to compare them with your brand kit, and short snippets of text to show you where each issue is. When you click an issue, it moves to that slide and selects the item. Decksure does not change your slides.
- Display and run content inside Google Slides. This shows the Decksure sidebar, which loads fonts from Google Fonts to show font names in their own typeface.
- Connect to an external service. This is used only to send the usage counts described below, never your slide content.
- See your email address. Decksure does not store your email address or send it anywhere today. When paid plans start, it will be used only to check whether your account has an active subscription, and we will update this policy before then.
Decksure cannot open your other files, your Drive, your email or anything else in your account.
What's saved, and where
Decksure has no servers of its own and keeps no copy of your slides. Check results exist only in the sidebar while it is open. Two things are saved, both by Google, with your Google account, in the space Google gives each add-on for each user:
- Your brand kit: the font names, color codes and minimum text size you save. It isn't sent to us.
- A random ID: a meaningless code created the first time you open Decksure. It lets us count how many people use Decksure without knowing who they are. It isn't linked to your name or email address.
If you share your kit, Decksure creates a code in your browser containing its fonts, colors and minimum size. Nothing is uploaded; the code goes only where you paste it.
What's sent outside Google
To understand whether Decksure is useful, it sends events to PostHog, an analytics service, each carrying the random ID. An event says that Decksure was opened, a brand kit was saved (how it was set up, and how many fonts and colors it has), a check was run, a kit code was shown, or an issue was added to the kit. Events never contain slide content, file names, font names, color codes, your name or your email address.
Who else handles data
- Google runs Decksure inside Google Slides, stores what's listed above and handles our email.
- PostHog receives the usage counts.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies. The site sets no cookies of its own.
We're based in India, and we and these providers may handle data in other countries.
We don't sell your data or use it for advertising. We don't use your data, including anything from Google Workspace APIs, to develop, improve or train AI or machine learning models. No one at Decksure reads your slides.
Decksure's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How it's protected
Your slides and brand kit stay on Google's systems, protected by your Google account's security. Usage counts are sent over an encrypted connection.
Keeping and deleting data
- Brand kit: kept until you remove it. In Decksure, edit your kit, remove every font and color, and save.
- Usage counts: kept for no longer than two years. They aren't linked to your email address, so we usually can't tell which ones are yours.
- Emails you send us: used only to reply and to improve Decksure, and deleted when no longer needed. You can ask us to delete yours at any time. Please don't send confidential decks.
- Removing Decksure: uninstall it from Google Slides (Extensions, then Add-ons, then Manage add-ons), or remove it at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
To access or delete data we hold about you, email admin@getdecksure.com. Depending on where you live (for example, in the EU, the UK or India), you may have further rights under data protection law, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children and changes
Decksure is meant for work use and is not directed at children under 16.
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If we change how Decksure uses your Google data, we'll tell you and ask for your consent first.
